East London

East London is one of the most vibrant parts of the city. It’s international and bustling – a place where new ideas spring up and great things take shape.

Our Mile End campus is located on Regents Canal, opened in 1816 the canal is one of the most popular attractions for students and Londoners alike. It’s home to canal boat restaurants, bars and cafes, a bookshop and the UK’s only floating puppet theatre!

A five-minute walk from campus is Victoria Park, London’s oldest public park and one of the city’s most loved green spaces.  Public events including a free outdoor cinema, live music and a weekly farmers and street food Market are regularly held here.

We’re proud of our home in East London and are excited to show you what that means.

Getting around

London is an incredible city to live in, and your time here will give you plenty of opportunities to explore. Our two largest campuses, Mile End and Whitechapel, are well connected to the rest of the city, UK, and further afield. Both campuses are a few minutes’ walk from Tube stations and several bus routes stop right outside campus. .

Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, King’s Cross Station, and the rest of London’s amazing sights are less than 30 minutes away and if you’re heading abroad, London City Airport is just over 30 minutes on public transport.

We also have campuses at West Smithfield and Charter House Square. Primarily for medicine and dentistry students, West Smithfield incorporates St Bartholomew’s Hospital (Barts) and the Medical Library.

Research institutes including the Barts Cancer Institute and William Harvey Institute are based at Charter House Square, as well as dedicated accommodation for medical students.

Postgraduate Law students will study at Lincoln Inn Fields. Next to Holborn and the Royal Courts of Justice, this is the historic legal centre of London.
